I come from parents who lived through the Great Depression and met during the Second World War. I was their only child, and from them I learned the importance of hard work, education, and integrity in dealing with others.

In 1968 I married Joan Kennedy, and we have two grown sons, Ethan and Benjamin. Weve been blessed with a lovely granddaughter, Gabrielle Rose Gilbert. The law is my second vocation, after having served in pastoral ministry for 17 years.
